The Kelly Ripa Arm Project

{Note: Updates on this page will appear on the bottom….so keep scrolling if you’ve been here before!}
January 20, 2010
I’m on a quest to tone up my arms for the summer! Yes, I would love to have arms like Kelly Rippa, so I’m using her arms as my inspiration. I would like to first state that I am very happy with my body {minus my chicken wing arms!}, and I am not trying to lose any weight, just replace a little fat with some muscle.
This page is where I am going to document my project….
Yummy looking cupcakes!
Beginning Stats:
I regularly work out 2-3 times a week and in the past year I completed a Boot Camp at Gold’s Gym last June and have been using a personal trainer about once a week for the past few months. On January 11, 2010, I started the Seek the Triad Fit Club at Proehlific Park. They took our weight and body fat measurements and here are mine:
Height: 5′3″
Weight: 113.6
Body Fat: 23%
Number of pushups I could do: 28
I also took a few beginning pictures of myself:

What do you think about maybe just tattooing the wings?
Nice Tatto....ha ha...photoshop anyone?
January 25 Mon – Ran 1.5 miles, 1 hour of Seek Fit Club and then 15 min. of tricep exercises
January 27 Wed – 20 minutes of back and bicep exercises, 1 hour of Seek Fit Club
January 29 Frid – 1 REALLY hard hour of Seek Fit Club!

We are really doing some fabulous exercises with the medicine ball…just like Kelly! I even purchase my own 6 pound medicine ball at Target yesterday. I have it sitting in front of me on my desk and as I work here at my desk I pick it up and crank out some arm exercises!
I heart my ball!
January 31 (Sunday) – Did the 30 minute DVD that came with my medicine ball – good workout!
***
February 1 – I found some Kelly Ripa arm workouts from Studio 57 online and I did the 30 minute workout. I could really feel it the next day as I headed to Blissdom the next day….with my ball!
***
Had my ball in the car with me….did a few triceps exercises in the car with it as we drove to Nashville, TN to Blissdom.
***
Met two amazing women at Blissdom MizFitOnline and BookieBoo! Wow, what a total inspiration! They got onboard with my arm project and totally inspired me to keep it up! Got to do a quick workout with them in the hallway at Blissdom! Crazy!
***
Monday, February 8 – Back in the saddle and ready for some HARD work. I hit the gym and did a back and bicep workout and then did a KILLER Fit Club session at Proehlific Park!
***
Wednesday, February 10 – Fit Club
***
Friday, February 12 – Tricep workout, Fit Club
***
Saturday, February 13 – cardio, legs and shoulders, pull ups, dips at gym
***
Sunday, February 14 – set out to run 2 miles, but only did a mile and a 1/2…my legs were really sore from the day before!
***
Monday, February 15 – going into Fit Club with sore legs! Survived Fit Club and LOTS of push ups, yeah I did them all on my feet with no knees!

I am trying again.
I am about nothing, if not trying again.
You do know that Kelly does not eat those cupcakes, right?? You have made me consider more carefully my spring “shape up” program. I actually own one of those medicine balls and do need to improve myself before my daughter’s wedding reception in June! Thanks for the “call to action.”
LOVE this idea! I started working out on a regular basis last year. The bug bit me and I’m still going strong. I go to a local LA Fitness and enjoy spin 2-3 times/week as well as Body Works. Gotta get rid of those chicken wings, right? You are an inspiration!
