the before shot
I am pleased to say that I have finished my latest furniture painting project! I took my grandmothers antique telephone table. Back in the day they sat {can you imagine not walking around the house multi- tasking while you talked on the phone???} to talk on the phone. The phone would sit on the table. Underneath was space for your phone books. It has a cute little chair that goes with it. I removed it once I had my second child. He is a climber and was forever moving the little chair around the house to use as a step stool. It got real old, so off to the attic the chair went.
Second hand lamp
This was a red lamp I found at a consignment shop in town for $3.00. I hit with a quick spray of black paint and it was a whole new lamp.
loving the color
I used paint I already had left over from my recent laundry room makeover. I sanded down the dark shiny stain, painted 2 coats of paint, sanded the edges to rough it up, and then did a dark brown glaze (Raw Umber by Valsapr) and then sealed it all with some Poly Ocrylic. Sounds like a lot of work, but I just did one step a day stretched over 2 weeks. I consider it my therapy!
L. Herbert Prints
I topped it off with 2 of my L. Herbert prints that I moved from my living room….what to do in that empty space now????
As soon as I get some good pictures of Christmas decor I will start showing them off. It is a dreary day here in NC and there is no good lighting!
