Laundry Room Makeover

I started with my Poop Brown {sorry, but it is what it is!} Laundry Room, a $10 yard sale table and a few bargains from Goodwill. I decided to brighten up the room and gave it a fresh coat of paint {a Valspar paint color that for the life of me I can’t find right now!} after a thorough cleaning!

New Knobs!

New Knobs!

I got some great fleur de lis knobs off ebay….

Pretty inside too!

I even cleaned and organized the insides too!

I whipped up a little self made artwork….so easy!

I love it!

my first trim project!

I then tackled my very first trim project. My laundry tub takes a serious beating and so do the walls surrounding it. I really want white subway tile, but went for the cheap fix for now. I had some white bead board in my garage. I cut it and nailed it to the wall and then spent about $10 on some trim to go around it. It is not perfect, but not bad for my first try.

Yard Sale Table

Yard Sale Table

I had used my $10 yard sale table as my project in my furniture painting class I recently took. It turned out to be the perfect folding table! It was super easy, 2 coats of paint, a little sanding to rough it up, some glaze and then a protective coating. My new obsession is now painting furniture!

I also installed a closet bar between the cabinets and the wall to hang clothes on.

The Real Room!

The Real Room!

The reality is that it is pretty and fresh and I’m loving it…but it pretty much looks like this each day!

NOTE: I got the paint can down and it is Wintergreen by Valspar. I had Sherwin Williams make it because I just adore that paint and all my peeps who know me in there! It is also satin/eggshell finish.

Isn’t it A Beautiful Life!

Hey Mary jean,
I have been thinking about you lately and just checked out your new website. I love your new laundry room. You used the Martha Stewart Blue walls, bead board, and black accent. Great Job! The cheap artwork does not look cheap. Hope you are doing well! I got to show Abbey the new precious puppy. She loves to see pictures of Ethan and Grayson.

I am laughing out loud because you posted a picture with your bras and underwear on the wall! That absolutely cracks me up. The room looks AMAZING, and I needed the inspiration because I’m about to revamp my own laundry closet. (I wish it were a “room,” but it’s just a closet!)

I love it!!! I’ve been so inspired by all the laundry rooms I’ve been seeing – I decided when I have a house I’m doing mine in turquoise and white too!! And those fleur de lis knobs are ba-na-nas!

Wonderful, wonderful! I love the wall color. I painted my bedroom and my living room that blue and it is so restful. And I love that you lined the INSIDE of your cabinets. What a wonderful idea! I am going to do that. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’m loving that color! Do you by chance have the color formula Sherwin-Williams used?

Okay, sorry if this is a stupid question because of the name of the color but in your pictures the color looks blueish. In real life, does the color take on a blue tone or is it mostly green? Thanks in advance.
