OK, I really want to know the answer to this question…which means you have to leave me a comment!
Are you a night packer or a morning packer….or maybe a no packer????
I’m very passionate about my kids lunches, well everything we eat for that matter. But, I’m curious to know if you pack your kids lunch at night or in the morning. I am a morning packer. Yes, I know it adds to the confusion and chaos of the morning, but I can’t bear the thought of them eating a peanut butter and jelly that has sat on bread all night. I like a fresh lunch each morning. I don’t want the bread all cold. I don’t want the mayo making the bread soggy all night. Am I the only one?
I do let them buy their lunch on Fridays…pizza day. It is a big relief on Friday morning when I don’t have to pack, even though I cringe at what they probably eat that day. I let it go for that one day and it really helps me out. It is all about balance right?

I am a morning packer too. Gio’s school is peanut free…which makes it challenge to be creative.
oh…bummer on the peanut free! Thankfully we only have a peanut free table for “those people”. Do you ever just feel like sneaking some in, or are you afraid of the “peanut police.” This “nutty” girl would be lost w/o nuts….am I cheesing you out yet?
Thanks for the comment… Ifeel so loved by you!
Well, I am a morning girl too, although I THINK about switching to night packing every now and then…somehow it just never happens! LOL! And what in the world would we do if we couldn’t do nutty around here???? I do NOT know!!! Gotta love the peanut butter…the crunchier the better!! : ) And yes, it is all about balance, I agree! : )
Currently Delaney only has one “lunch day” and she’s such an extrovert that she’s always too excited to do much eating. Which means she’s starved by early afternoon and is usually having a sizeable snack. To answer the question – I’m a night packer. We aren’t sandwich people and D can’t have PB at her school. The few days that I work, I pack my own lunch and I pack a lunch (usually of leftovers from one of the last few nights dinners) and snacks for Sean every night. He usually works through lunch so if I send healthy food, which he prefers, he won’t be forced to do fast food or find something wrapped in plastic. Back to Delaney – she’s animal protein and dairy averse (except for the Camille Salad @ Pita Delite – her absolute favorite meal). Not to say she can’t eat protein or dairy, she just doesn’t typically choose it. I passed the curse of love for starch on to her so if I’d let her she’d starch & raw veggies & fruit and that’s it. So, I send an apple, “crunchy peas” (baked sugar snap peas), walnuts (broken into little pieces), & sometimes a cheese stick if I think she might be in mood.
I am a morning packer! I like it fresh too. But it has only been two weeks and I am so bored of sandwiches, fruit, chips or pretzels and yogurt every single day!
I’m a morning, on the way out the door, if I even remember packer! Poor Grant, one day he’s not going to have lunch or lunch money and the school will call me saying, “come get him”, because he fell out in the cafeteria from no “Mommy can’t get off the computer long enough to make me lunch” syndrome!
Lucky for Drake, he’s packed at night and ready to go for 24 hours!!! Love that boy!!!
Morning only. I can’t stand the thought of a soggy or old lunch… and I also must confess that my husband has assumed lunch packing duties. We both work, and I get them ready and to school, so he helps out by preparing their lunches when he makes his own.
night packer – we do 4 every night! I put them in the fridge and put mustard in between the meat and cheese so the bread doesn’t get soggy:) Love all the wealth of info. on here MJ!!
