My 12 year old washer and dryer were on my nerves. They were smelly and rusted and the lint vent on the top of the dryer was killing me. Every time I pulled that long thing out lint would go everywhere! I really wanted to get some more energy efficient ones as well.
When I did my last laundry room makeover, I said I was keeping the old ones until they broke down. But, I broke down instead….I got new ones! They were on sale 30% off at Sears for President’s Day. I did stick to my guns and did not even look at the front loader washers. I have heard nothing but negative things from all my friends about them. They tried to lure me over with their fabulous colors and beautiful design. I refused to give them a glance.
I opted instead for the Kenmore Elite top loading washer and a front loading dryer with THE LINT THING INSIDE! It is like a space station in my laundry room now. All the beeps and chimes and glowing lights. No more crank the noisy dial around guessing how long to wash your clothes for. The dryer even has an inside light so you can watch your clothes spin around in the dark!
My husband thought they were so cool he spent yesterday DOING LAUNDRY! Wow! So far positive feedback on the new duo. Only time will tell.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am totally in awe of MJ! First this fabulous bedroom makeover with amazing paint and board and batten…..now the laundry room. The crisp clean look is perfect! (I must admit that the very very best part for me is that everything was taken out, cleaned, painted and replaced Dust-Free !) How luxurious is that ?!
I’m envious AND inspired !
I am in love with your laundry room!!!!
I love the wall art, but can’t see the whole thing. Can you tell me what it says, or tell me where you got it? I am building a house, and am going to copy lots of your ideas!
I love the boards and batten too…. trying to figure out how to trick the hubbs into doing this with me before we move into our new house next month.
Do you have any tutorials on the furniture painting?
Love the laundry room!!! This is One Style Savvy-Nutty Girl!
Just recently we have started gutting my old office to make room for a laundry room. I have been online looking for inspiration and thats where i found YOU! First of all, i had no idea what i found until i was halfway in to imitating your laundry room when i started to explore the rest of your creations. You are so talented chick! I hope you don’t mind but I am recreating your laundry room for myself…when we are finished I’ll send you some pictures. BTW what is the numbers…1-4 on the cabinets about? Thank you for the inspiration!!!
I love your laundry room. Where did you the laundry definition stencil? Thanks!
Hey! Where did you get the laundry definition decals? Love that.
Thanks for sharing! We recently added a new laundry room to our house as well. Actually, it was more of a “make-over” / “extension” to our existing hole in the wall of a laundry room. I like how you innovated and came up with yours!
