Fall Mantle Linky Day

in My Projects, before and after, home decor

The first phase

The first phase

A few weeks ago I cleared off the summer mantle and started the mantle makeover for fall.   I’ve been enjoying our new {and very fabulous!} picture over the mantle while deciding how I could bring in some fall.

keeping it simple

I am head over heals for my shabby chic window frame.  I did not want to put too much on the mantle to take away from it.  I decided to stay with neutrals.  I started by running a piece of wide burlap ribbon (purchase from Total Bliss!) down the center.  {Note to self:  You still need to trim the end hanging off. }  I decided to stick with some browns and a white pumpkins.  I hung one of many Southern Living iron walls art pieces for a little texture.  I mixed in some brown and glass.  I added a candle sitting on top of a upside down glass, gathered a few sticks from the yard and put it all together.

It's a Book

It's a Book

I had a old book that I had bent all the pages back on and I plopped it down inside the hurricane to anchor the sticks.

On the other side I stuck with the same color theme.  Added two white pumpkins, keeping my driftwood I previously had from the summer mantle.  I used the starfish to throw a little coastal theme in there too!  The pedestal was a cheap goodwill item from last year that I had painted and distressed.

Fall Mantle Complete!

So this is the view of it all put together.  I think I’m liking it.  I wanted it simple and I did not want it to clash with the family picture, so I really did not want to bring in any oranges or a lot of leaves, etc.  I think the coastal touches compliment the blue on the frame.  But, if you think it need something please feel free to weigh in your opinion!  I’m always open to suggestions.

Fall Table Makeover

Fall Table Makeover

I also did a little makeover on this side table that was looking a bit summery as well. Even though it is still like 95 degrees here in NC. I’m so over this heat! And then I’ll be over the cold and so on and so on! Are we ever content?

A little extra peak

A little extra peak

I needed some super quick inspiration on a budget.  So, I ran into my favorite store of all time Total Bliss.  It is located in my town of Summerfield, minutes away.  Dangerous minutes away.  Total Bliss rocks the fall and Christmas season like no other!  Shop owner Nancy has a great table in there dressed up with burlap and ribbon and I wanted one too!  I ran in and grabbed a few yards of burlap table runner and some of her pretty bows.  I cleared off the table, lay down the runner and tied my bows around the excess.  Viola!

loving burlap!

I took a few more sticks and some holiday leaf fakery and stuck them in a tall hurricane. I then plopped a ceramic pumpkin in the glass dome and set that on a cream plate (also purchased from Total Bliss!) and I was DONE! Well, done for that table. Here is the real view of what the room looks like:

focus on the finished!

Lots of clutter on either side of the fireplace.  I need to redecorate and organize the shelves and find a place for everything that I took down!  I really should be having a yard sale too!

I’m curious as to what you all are up to in your fall decorating.  Are you doing the same thing you usually, or are you changing it up this year?  Please link up today with any fall decorating you have been doing! I only ask that you link back here to One Nutty Girl!

Happy Fall Decorating!  Have a Blessed Weekend!

LOVE what you did! I have tried to hard to find fall related items… Such an encouragement to see everyday things included in a fall themed mantle!
