Boring!
How fast can a girl get a Fall Nesting Party post together for The Inspired Room Party? And yuck like anybody is going to click on my mantle looking like this!
Dressed up window!
Yesterday morning it looked like this. All beachy and still very much doing it for me. But, I knew fall is upon us. Plus, I had just scored this fab window frame for $10 and I was itching to get it a home somewhere in my abode.
blue chippy window frame!
We also just had our family photo done for the first time by a professional photographer Moments Captured by Kelly Renee Photography! She did an awesome job and I had a large photo mounted big one to hang somehwere.
Not quite right
So Monday night, in the middle of cooking dinner {am I totally nutty or what?} I hung the frame and then scoured the house for Command Strips for the picture. I stepped back and thought…BORING. I flipped the burgers and headed to the garage for paint and a brush.
LEttErS
I drew a square inside the frame with a pencil and then painted it white. I then remembered I had bought a bunch of letters from one of my all time favorite haunt’s Mary’s in downtown Greensboro. She has tons of letters from all over the place in all shapes and fonts. I spray painted the “Y” red for fall, but the rest are as is. Today I set the letters into the bottom of the frame and stuck the picture back up.
The beginning of a Fall Mantle Makeover
At 10:02 pm tonight I snapped this picture for the first step in my Fall Nesting plan. The next step is to sit back and click through all the great links on the party and get some inspiration to finish it off!

Hey at least you didn’t burn the burgers…..did you? I love it. Love the evolving fall look. You did a wonderful job. And your family photo is wonderful. That should take center stage. It is so precious. I for one will stay tuned!
Can’t wait.
Blessings,
Debbie
I think you’ve got a great beginning! Beautiful family, and the letters are great!
WoW! MJ I simply love it. Keep these images close because I am going to be running contest for my clients that will involve their creativity (which you clearly have nailed!) and how they use my portraits in their homes. I can’t wait to capture more memories for you and see what you do with them next. BEAUTIFUL!! Love love love it!
love, love it gurl! You is so talented.
Love the FAMILY! That looks great.
Partying with you at Melissa’s.
Really sweet. I love it!
I do my best crafting while I’m making dinner, too! That is a gorgeous family photo.
Your mantle looks great and your family is beautiful. Where is Mary’s (is this the name of the store)? I am in Hickory and would love to visit this store. It sounds like alot of fun.

This just makes me smile. I have a similar vision for a wall in my house but instead of “family”, it would spell our last name. Having a hard time finding the mismatched letters though.
That’s so lovely! I love fall decorating, makes me feel all cozy.
Love those letters and gorgeous family photo!

Hello Mary,
Just stopped by to see what you had to say. Love the inspiration you provided for fall. I am ready. The summer here (midwest) was too hot so I am ready to do some fall garden work.
Thanks for the Picture frame. Since years I have several ones and did not do anything with them. i will consider that my fall project.
that totally makes it! how great!
Very creative. I think the letters all being different really adds to the interest.
I love what you did with the old window frame. Awesome. Now I will look for some myself!
