This week I am just plain insane! I started a project last week and well lets just say I’m “mid way” and I’m frustrated; the rest of my life has gotten  in the way. This is what the top of my dryer looks like. Why my dryer? I’m not sure. It just seems to be a dumping ground for all my project supplies.

Do you have a utility sink in your house? I had one added in the laundry room when we bought the house. So glad I did. There is about 20 different colors of paint in that sink! Why? Because once again I am sloppy, unorganized and I dump my brushes and rollers in the sink. How many rollers and brushes have I had to throw away over the years? I cringe to think. I’m the girl that actually has to throw the entire roller away, arm and everything. I don’t take the used rollers off and they get stuck on. I can’t pry them off for nothing! You would think I would have learned my lesson by now.

This is my laundry room after my last makeover in there. You can read more about it on this post. It generally never looks like this.

I accept the fact that I will never have cute little glass jars with my nails and screws all perfectly organized.

I crave to live like this.  Is this reality?  Do people actually put things away when they are done with them?  If you do, tell me how you manage to do it!

I’m totally loving this colored grid and pegboard and the whole calming look of this organized work area.

Are you the girl with the organized nail jars or the girl that does not wash her brushes out on time?

My husband actually DOES put everything away WHERE IT GOES when he is done with a project. He plans the time to make sure he quits early enough to have CLEAN UP TIME! A designated time to put away, sweep up, and clean off. I’ve been trying to learn his Ninja like ways!

Oh, my husband would just die if he knew how many brushes and rollers I’ve had to throw away! I usually do an okay job cleaning things up, but those paint messes seem to get the best of me! So glad I’m not alone!

I too would love to have all my screw, nails, nuts and bolts organized in lovely glass jars – but sadly that will probably never happen in my lifetime.
I manage to keep my office/studio fairly organized and picked although I must admit that it is a challenge :)

By the way – love your laundry room!

Hello,
Am first timer here. I just want to leave a msg regarding your queries.

Well, I do throw, brushes & all those stuffs when used. My laundry or other places at home that are beyond my control are well organize. Or else I be very stress.

We don’t have small kids, I guess this is a plus. My eldest is 25 & lil daughter is 18 yrs old.

TY for a smart ideas to me. Impressive…

Happy week-end.

There are so many different types of hardware fasteners! I’ve yet to find a good way to store the various amounts of each type that I seem to accumulate. I love to look at these types of put together rooms though…Handyman magazine has really great ideas for organizing.

I aspire to have all my screws in jars but that would make them harder to grab one handed, teetering on a ladder, while holding up the curtain rod with my shoulder and waving the drill in the other hand. Lets face it, sometimes what looks pretty isn’t always practical, but man, they still look pretty.
