Five weeks ago I rolled my ankle over during Fit Club. It HURT! I had things to do that day. I did not have time for an injury. I hobbled around the rest of the day and then hit the couch in PAIN and iced it for the rest of the day. I had two friends offer to either take my kids or take me to the doctor. Tough girl turned them down. Tough girl kept hobbling around in pain, for days, for weeks. Tough girl kept working out {however I did modify things quite a bit}. Devastated that I could not run because I had just gotten back into it. Mourning the loss of a strong body.

Tough girl finally broke down and went to the doctor last week. Look what tough girl has on her ankle just in time for FLIP FLOP and SANDAL weather thank you very much! Tough girl wore some tough heals to a black tie wedding Saturday night. Fashion is pain. So what am I trying to say?

Tough girl can’t BE STILL and heal!

Last week Angela at Cafe Angelica asked what would you choose. To be a Mary or a Martha?

“Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things. But only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:40-42

Can you guess my answer? It seems I am, once again, being a Martha. It is 7:30 AM and I am sitting here {in pain} looking at the clock to see when I need to leave for Fit Club. However, I’m craving some quite time with the Lord and being home and Being Still.

I just changed my mind after I typed that sentence! I am choosing to be Mary, at least until my 11 am meeting.

What will you choose for yourself today? I encourage you to Be Still for a bit, put away any worries or anxieties and trust that Lord will carry you through the day.  {Pray I can take my own advice too!}

Oh sweet girl. I know you can be still if you just decide that it is what is best for you! Praying that as you are ‘Mary’ this morning (since that IS your real name) that Jesus will encourage you and bless you in your choice to sit as His feet and soak Him in.

I’m crazy about you~

Ohhhhh, I’m so sorry and hope you’re not in pain.
You have refreshed us (your readers) with this Be Still Monday idea –
Prov. 11:25 “{She} who refreshes others will {herself} be refreshed”!
May that be so.

Mary Jean, I am so sorry to hear this news. I guess the silver lining is that you have to take it easy and maybe have time for some things you can’t normally fit into your day! Hoping you recover quickly. PS Cute toes! I need a pedi!

Oh bummer! Forced rest is the worst…but I guess it could end up being the best on the other side. Since you linked up with Tuesdays Unwrapped, it would be great if you would link back to Chatting at the Sky somewhere in your post. Thanks!
