Welcome to my very first Linky Day! Last week I wrote about Being Still in this post and invited you to join me each Monday to talk about Being Still. There are no rules, just discussing our thoughts, successes and even failures!
Next Monday I will pick one of your comments or posts to feature on Be Still Monday. You do not need to have a blog to link up today. Simply share what you want in the comment section, or link your blog post.
Being Still!
I took this photo last week on Spring Break while visiting Andrew Jackson’s home The Hermitage in Nashville, TN. How long do you think this old tree has been “Being Still”? Can you imagine all that this guy has witnessed over the years? I’m sure many people stopped to take a break from life under this very tree. The Hermitage was a working farm for many, many years. I sure there was quite a bit of busyness picking cotton and raising crops and running the 1,000 acres that made up the plantation.
It was great to take a break with my family and enjoy a piece of history. It really made me think about life and how far we have come since these early days of our country. I wonder what kind of struggles the people who lived here had with keeping balance?
I face this week with just as many challenges as the rest of you do. Too much to do and not enough time to do it in! What or who will I put at the top of that priority list?
What about you?

Mary Jean, I love the sentiment behind this Monday linky party and look forward to joining it in the future! (I just couldn’t BE STILL long enough this weekend or this morning to write a meaningful post – so thank you for inspiring me to do so!)
My link up is the stillness that comes after the storm. I wrote my blog post on Friday after my storm, but it seemed to fit so well. Thank you.
A very beautiful post and wonderful idea. I experienced beautiful stillness in the week following my husband’s cancer surgery. You’d think I would have been anxiety-ridden, and yet the Lord blessed me with stillness and peace.
I will link up next time!
Thank you for hosting this. It’s been timely for me. Your words are ‘fitly spoken, in due season’.
